There’s a lot to say about this cottage. With a porch on the front that looks to the Core Sound and a screened porch on the back, the cottage sits on a half-acre of coastal property. The porch is wrapped around the back and sides of the house -- it's all lazy, easy. I’ve been to this cottage a number of times, so I can vouch for how pleasant it is.
One of the few places to stay in this picturesque area. Pelican Coastal Cottage is located one block from the waters of Core Sound and the ferry to the barrier islands known as the Core Banks, and a short drive away from the Revolutionary town of Beaufort, known for its historic houses, its excellent restaurants, its yachts and its numerous tourist attractions. The cottage is reached by a scenic state byway, across numerous bridges and along large bodies of water.
Ideal for nature lovers, adventurers, kayakers, windsurfers, paddle-boarders, birdwatchers, writers, artists, photographers, honeymooners, romance-seekers, and those who want to get away from it all.
Davis is an authentic North Carolina Core Sound beach community, reminiscent of a warmer Maine coastal fishing village or a South Carolina low-country hamlet. The village is close to Cape Lookout National Seashore, Harker’s Island with the National Parks Headquarters and the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, Cedar Island and the ferry to Ocracoke Island, the boat-building village of Marshallberg and the fishing town of Atlantic with access to the ghost village of Portsmouth Island.
Here is what two visitors had to say about their visit to the cottage.
"Thank you so much for letting us use the beach house for our honeymoon! Having this time to relax, take some long bike rides together, and just enjoy each other's company was wonderful. This is such a perfect location, expecially for 40 mile bike rides because it is almost completely flat!"
